With only 10 days left in the countdown to Christmas, I hope you are keeping your smiles and your sanity. Does it look like you might have a white Christmas where you live? If so, be sure to stock up on grocery basics and toilet paper so you don’t have to worry about getting stuck without the milk (or the toilet paper). You know you can freeze milk for later. Do not get me started talking about the time I had to walk to get the milk, in the snow, uphill both ways. I’m not kidding!

A celebration is coming up that is overshadowed by Christmas. This Saturday is December 21, the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. You might use this as an opportunity to have a small celebration to commemorate the day. I like to make a cake and decorate it like the sun. I have always talked about then staying up all night to make sure the sun comes up again, but I have never gone through with it as I’m really not that type of person, or it seems like the sort of tongue-in-cheek event that would be a lot more fun in a group. If you don’t feel like baking, then the shortest day of the year seems like a good time to take the family out looking at Christmas lights and celebrate light itself.

Enjoy this week’s prompts…
