Download the ibotta app to your phone. This is an app that works sort of like coupon-clipping, but it gives you cash back on your grocery and online purchases. And it really works! I had heard of this app quite some time ago, but I had mistakenly assumed it would be a lot of effort for not a lot of reward, and was probably spammy.

Then my sister told me it really works, so I tried it out, and within a month I had earned $70 cash back. You can get cash back on groceries, ebay purchases, some Amazon purchases, and various other online or in-store purchases. It is easy to use and it is not spammy.

To be completely honest, I did have trouble getting the app to send my $70 direct to my PayPal account, so I ended up getting a $70 Amazon credit instead. Since I’m pretty much conditioned to buy everything at Amazon anyway, for me this is the same as cash.

I can see using these refunds as Christmas savings!

You can use my referral code hmhjmdv when you sign up, and that gives me some credits as well as puts us on a “team” that earns more cash back together.
