Where I live, we are only getting about 10 hours of daylight each day. It feels like we’ve barely gotten the day going before the sun sets again. I know the solstice has passed and allegedly the days are getting longer now, but it really doesn’t seem like it. My whole family has commented on it. So we took down the snowflake decor already and we put up Valentine decorations. They are so pink and glittery and help to cheer us up when it is so dark outside. I’ll have to post pictures later on so you can see.

But January still reigns this week, so most of this week’s prompts are responding to the coldness and darkness that is still the bleak mid-winter.

We have found a new favorite cookie recipe and we have made it many, many times the last couple of months. It is Frosted Flakes cookies and I will share the recipe on Friday. It’s basically a chocolate chip-slash-oatmeal cookie with Frosted Flakes combined. So you can imagine what sort of ingredients you’ll need to have on hand if you want to make them on Friday too. They are marginally more effort than a regular chocolate chip cookie, but the payoff is huge. It is truly our favorite cookie!
