How is your Christmas in July going? Where I live, it has finally gotten very hot outside, and I’m looking forward to this week’s prompts.

This has been such a difficult year so far. One of the main principles at CM365 is that there is always something to look forward to. With so many events cancelled and buildings closed, it sometimes was a challenge for me to tell myself or my kids what to look forward to. But there is always something. I had a dream that my town chose to celebrate Christmas in July by putting up all the Christmas decorations. The streets and businesses were all decorated and even in my dream I was so excited to tell you about it on the blog. Then I woke up and realized it was not true. However, the kids and I got out the dollhouse and we decided to at least decorate one of the rooms for Christmas. We are having fun designing our miniature Christmas room.

Later this week we will go on a virtual Christmas vacation. I will round up vacation ideas that you can tuck away and perhaps look forward to when things are open again.

On Thursday we are having frozen hot chocolate to celebrate Christmas in July. This is hardly a recipe, as it is basically a chocolate milkshake. But when you are grocery shopping you might pick up some things for this “recipe”, such as chocolate syrup, ice cream, powdered hot chocolate mix, whipped cream, red and green sprinkles.

On Friday we are going to get outside in a nice, big, public, open space and fly a kite. Think about where you might go and where your kite might be. I will have links to instructions for making your own kite as well as for pre-made kites that are reasonably priced.

Finally, on Saturday I’m sharing a fun podcast that I know you will like.

I hope you are finding lots to look forward to. Take some time to journal about this topic this week. Try brainstorming all the things you are still looking forward to, whether tomorrow or in 5 years or even longer out.
