March is here! 10 months until Christmas. Spring is coming. We are waking up from winter hibernation. I have lots of fun and easy crafts and food and celebrations to look forward to in March.

I took down my February decorations (pink hearts and pink Christmas trees) yesterday. Today we are decorating all in shamrock green. For my 2 tiny windows we are making bead curtains out of green mardis gras beads. When I am done I will show pictures. Over my mantel I’ve reinstated the main decor that sits on the mantel most of the year. It is simply a big mirror in a white frame. My kids draw on the mirror with liquid chalk markers (affiliate link). They usually change out their drawings around the first of each month. The mirror is the main focal point from March to September.

My family does have Irish heritage, so we like to do a lot of green and shamrocks and St. Patrick’s Day decor this time of year. But from what I’ve observed, you don’t need to have Irish heritage to have fun with the idea of St. Patrick’s Day. So this week we have a lot of leprechaun and shamrock-themed prompts.

Remember my ‘recipe’ for hot vanilla milk as an alternative to hot chocolate? Well, on Friday we’re going to do something similar, but make it minty for a hot drink that is reminiscent of a ‘shamrock shake’. To make it minty you will want to have some kind of mint extract or mint candy flavoring or mint Torani’s flavoring (affiliate link) like they have at coffee shops. Any of those things will work. And you can add green food coloring if you like. For me, the hot milk beverage is really just a vehicle for mini marshmallows, so don’t forget to put those on your shopping list too.

Have a great week!

Can a child have too many gifts? Consider saving a couple of the children’s gifts for your emergency gift closet, rather than putting every single thing under the tree. Here is a story of my own, to help illustrate. I have 2 young daughters, a year apart in age. When...
