Schedule your quarterly planning session. Choose a day in October (or do it today!) and plan your next 3 months.

Get out your calendar and remind yourself of upcoming birthdays and anniversaries, travel plans, dentist appointments, things like that.

Book babysitters now. And haircuts.

This is also a good time for scheduling home maintenance that needs to be done for winter. Is this the year you need the chimney sweep to come out? When is the last time you changed the furnace filter? Change batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Get someone to clean out those rain gutters. Make sure you know where you have the ice melt or salt or sand, and that you have enough.

When you’re done, reward yourself with some tiny treat.
