Operation Gratitude is a nonprofit organization that sends care packages to U.S. troops that have been deployed. They are currently putting together 25,000 holiday packages and they would like to include a handmade hat or scarf in every single package.

They would love your handmade donations.

They take donations year-round, but really need the hats and scarves for the holiday packages by November 11 if possible.

They accept any color of yarn, although neutral colors are preferred. More information about the desired dimensions, how to donate, and sample patterns, can be found on their website here.
