This week we are doing some fun and relaxing things as we transition from summer to autumn. You’ll want to block out some time in your schedule just for you. An hour here and there. I know in some parts of North America it is super hot and summery still. Other places are definitely seeing the fall weather coming in. Where I live it is pouring down rain under gray skies. I definitely want to stay in and be cozy.

Friday I’m sharing a recipe for strawberry-cranberry jam. It is the most gorgeous red color and also is a great mix of summer and fall. If you want to make it too, in addition to strawberries and cranberries (both can be either fresh or frozen), you will need to have 2 pouches (3 oz each) of liquid pectin on hand if you want to make the recipe exactly as written. (If you can only find powdered pectin or low sugar pectin, the recipe can also work, but I have not personally tested it with dry pectin.) You will also need quite a bit of sugar – 4 to 5 pounds for the full recipe.

Today at my house we are decorating for Halloween. It seems a bit early, even to me, but my youngest daughter is beside herself with excitement about Halloween and says it is time to decorate. We are putting orange and purple fairy lights on the mantel, as well as various pumpkin ornaments and a haunted house that lights up. Then we have some of those window decals in a Halloween theme, that she is putting all over the mirrors and windows throughout the house. So, if you needed permission to decorate for Halloween while still September, just know that we are going for it and you can too!

Have a wonderful week.
