My older daughter is 9 years old and her favorite Christmas movie is The Search for Santa Paws. She loves dogs, and she also likes one of the songs very much. The song is called I Do Believe in Christmas, and it’s a pretty but upbeat song sung by a bunch of orphans. Like, Little Orphan Annie orphans. And there’s a mean Miss Hannigan type of character who takes the orphans’ toys away if they are naughty. But there’s also a nice dog, and elves, and Santa and Mrs Claus, and a toy store. The movie is G-rated and I don’t really sit through it myself, but my two kids love it and will watch it over and over.

So, I was tickled the other day when they put this movie on all by themselves, and I overheard them have a conversation about how it is ok to watch Christmas movies any time of year. Ok, I was not just tickled, I was overjoyed to hear them come to this conclusion. So cute!

The Search for Santa Paws and 2 sequels are currently streaming on Disney Plus, or you can rent/purchase them on Amazon (affiliate link).
