The Waltons was a TV show that aired in the 1970s but was set in the 1930s and 40s. It was about a large family that lived in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, and did the best they could to survive. Kind of like Little House on the Prairie, but 40 years later and it’s mountains instead of prairie.

The TV series launched after a movie called The Homecoming. It tells a familiar story of a father who is away from home on Christmas Eve, and the family is not sure when he’ll be back or how on earth Santa is going to find them to give gifts. If this kind of nostalgic story appeals to you, an excellent quality upload is on YouTube here.
