Try this recipe as an all-vanilla alternative to hot chocolate.

I have a weird food sensitivity and I can’t have hot chocolate. For a long time I made a version of “hot white” which involved melting white chocolate chips into milk. It’s kind of a pain. Kind of a big pain.

This recipe is much easier! For one serving, simply combine in a small saucepan: 1 cup of milk, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and ¾ tsp of vanilla extract. Heat over medium heat until milk is steaming. Pour into a mug and enjoy with mini marshmallows.

You can also heat the milk in a mug in the microwave (start at 90 seconds), then add the sugar and vanilla to the heated milk, topping with marshmallows. This so crazy easy that I regret all the time I ever spent trying to melt white chips into milk.

Add peppermint candy to your coffee

Drop a starlight peppermint into the bottom of your coffee cup before you add the coffee. The hot coffee melts the candy and adds instant peppermint flavor to your morning brew! (Image credit: mypstudio) You might also like these posts...
