Get a big bag of Ikea tea lights and decorate with washi tape. Use them yourself or save them for hostess gifts, stocking stuffers, etc.

Although you can see it is very simple, go here for the full tutorial with lots of photos and tips.

Half-inch washi tape is the perfect size for tea lights.

If you only have 3/4″ washi tape, you will find that it is slightly wider (taller) than the tea light, and you will need to press the excess tape underneath the tea light.

You might find it easier to decorate glass votive holders instead. But this is a little more costly and lot more breakable.
